Hello,

I am facing an issue with the Windows Backup application on our general manager’s computer. The alert “The account type is not supported for this feature” appears. and i already check the control panel configs about Security Backups and there is nothing configured, thats strange thing. Here are the details:

System Details:

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Account Type: Domain account with Microsoft 365 Business Premium license

Problem Description:

  • The alert appears in the “Windows Backup” application.
  • The icon of the application corresponds to OneDrive. (Copilot find out this)
  • The account used is a domain account.
  • There is no configurated backup and restore copies on drives.
  • The account has only configured backup onedrive for documents, desktop and images folders, there is no problem sync to onedrive.

Actions Taken:

  1. Verified that the user account has no backups on native app Backup for windows.
  2. Checked the backup settings in the Control Panel, and there are no active configurations.
  3. Confirmed that the account used is a domain account.
  4. Attempted to configure backups for the “Documents,” “Desktop,” and “Pictures” folders using OneDrive, but the alert persists.

Objective: Our goal is to remove this notification and ensure that backups of the mentioned folders are correctly performed using the user’s domain account with OneDrive license.

I would appreciate any guidance or solution to resolve this issue. If more information is needed, I am happy to provide it.

Thank you in advance for your help.
