Why are New Stories disappearing on the Viva Connections Desktop News Feed?

When publishing news on sharepoint sites, it appears in Mobile and Desktop Viva Connections feeds. The news stays in mobile feed indefinitely, but randomly disappears from the desktop feed. A story may be there for 30 minutes or 30 seconds. Can't find any documentation as to why this could be happening. Any thoughts?

Notifications triggered when a News link is published will be available only on Microsoft Teams mobile.

Individual content items in the Feed will display for a 30-day period. If your notifications only show up for a short while on the desktop client, you can try uninstalling Viva Connections in Teams and reinstalling it.
