Cannot Open .MHT files in IE using Edge

I have tried following the procedures microsoft provided to setup locally to open the .mht files, by inserting the policies manually in the registry yet it didn't seem to work. Unfortunately the documentation of Microsoft isn't on point as there are some naming conventions which aren't the same as the application name under the folder HKEY is called MicrosoftEdge not Edge. I need to open this .mht but it is found locally, is there a possible way to allow IE mode to open the file locally in IE mode please?

    Hi @Nathan Ciantar ,

You may have followed the wrong procedures. Please refer to this doc and enable InternetExplorerIntegrationZoneIdentifierMhtFileAllowed policy. After that, MHT or MHTML files that are downloaded from the web are automatically opened in Internet Explorer mode.

    If you prefer registry settings:

    • Path (Mandatory): SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
    • Path (Recommended): N/A
    • Value Name: InternetExplorerIntegrationZoneIdentifierMhtFileAllowed
    • Value Type: REG_DWORD
    • Value: 1
