How do I transfer Visio key from one computer to another

Question

I have MS Office including Visio on my old computer and need to transfer them to my new computer. I don't know where the keys are anymore.

How can I get these apps activated on my new laptop? In short how can I pick up the keys from my old computer and use them to activate MS Office and Visio on the new computer?

Hi

Is it a old Visio version or a version newer ? Newer version are linked to your Microsoft's account. Thus you can re-activate it by relogging inside the Visio activation's windows.

If it's an older retail version you had you need to run a key finder app on your old computer to retrieve the key used. You can't receover it with built-in application or registry. Key Finder from Magical Jelly Bean is one of such software, but you can find other's one.

How did you install the Visio in the old computer?

Usually, after you uninstall it completely from the old computer, you can reinstall and activate it on your new PC using the previous installation method.

1. Find the product key sticker on the old computer or in the Visio packaging using cmd command. "wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey"
2. Verify that the product key is still valid and has not expired.
3. Enter the product key when prompted during the installation process on the new computer.
