These features and improvements were released with the 2024.22 release of DLT.

Databricks Runtime versions used by this release

Channel:

  • CURRENT (default): Databricks Runtime 14.1
  • PREVIEW: Databricks Runtime 14.3

Note

Because DLT channel releases follow a rolling upgrade process, channel upgrades are deployed to different regions at different times. Your release, including Databricks Runtime versions, might not be updated until a week or more after the initial release date. New features and improvements in this release

  • This release includes an enhanced developer experience to help you develop and debug pipeline code directly in a Databricks notebook (Public Preview). Inside a notebook, you can now start and validate your pipeline, view the graph and logs for the latest update, view pipeline diagnostics, and more. See Develop and debug DLT pipelines in notebooks.
  • This release includes changes that improve the performance of the pipeline initialization and table setup stages, particularly for pipelines with a large number of flows.
