Multiplies two integer values on the stack with an overflow check. |
The stack transitional behavior, in sequential order, is:
value1 is pushed onto the stack.
value2 is pushed onto the stack.
value2 and value1 are popped from the stack; value1 is multiplied by value2, with an overflow check.
The result is pushed onto the stack.
The mul.ovf instruction multiplies integer value1 by integer value2 and pushes the result on the stack. An exception is thrown if the result will not fit in the result type.
OverflowException is thrown if the result can not be represented in the result type.
