Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To publish a phone book by command line

  1. Open Command prompt.

  2. At the command prompt, type the following:

    cd \Program Files\PBA

  3. At the command prompt, type the following:

    Pbadmin.exe /B [phone_book_name]

    Command-line parameters are case-sensitive.

  4. Press ENTER.

Important

  • If you intend to administer PBA from the command line, do not use spaces in the path to pbadmin.exe or in the path to the phone book files.

Notes

  • You must be logged on as a member of the Administrators or the Power Users group to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure.

  • To open the command prompt window, click Start, point to All programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command prompt.

  • Before you post, make sure that:

    • The host server is running.

    • You are connected to the network.

    • You have FTP, File, and Write permissions to post to the host server.

    • The account used for posting the phone book has a password. The password cannot be null.

    • You have set the host server name, user name, and password in the command line (by using the /O parameter) or in the PBA graphical interface. For more information on how to set a host server name, a user name, and a password, see Related Topics.

  • For more information about the pbadmin command, type pbadmin /? at the command prompt, or see pbadmin in Related Topics.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
