You can quickly go from any current window mode:

To Full Screen Mode by pressing SHIFT + ALT + ENTER:

The advantage, of course, is you get more real estate to work with when you just want more room.

    Sadly, if you have two monitors and do this, any windows (output, search, solution/project explorer etc - everything!) vanishes.   Why would anyone want that to happen?
