Focus, Dash, Ultra--Street Fighter IV
It had been well over a decade since I had played Street Fighter with any great dedication, but boy oh boy has Street Fighter IV sunk its deliciously addictive hooks into me. Alas, my fighter of choice (Abel) and I have been getting our teeth kicked in by friends of mine who’ve stuck with the series through the years, but hey, you only get better by playing the best.
Now though I have discovered the mighty “Focus-dash-Ultra”combo, and henceforth my opponents shall tremble at the sight of my flashing Ultra meter. Yeah, I’m talking to you Brightstorm and TEAMCHINA! Okay, they might still make short work of me, but at least I’ll respect myself in the morning.
Here’s how it works. Any successfully landed Focus attack (hold down medium punch and medium kick) should stun your opponent. The moment they’re stunned, try dashing by pressing forward twice. This will free you up to perform any move you please. If you’re fast enough you can unleash your Super or Ultra attacks provided your meters are filled. I’m a little fuzzy on just how to do this with charge characters, but I’ve been victimized by it, so I know you can. Master this combination and you’ll be all sorts of more dangerous.
