Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your speciality technologies?
I am Hansamali Gamage from Sri Lanka, I am working as a Senior Software Engineer in Tiqri (pvt) Ltd in Colombo. I live with my husband and my family, it will not be possible to write an article or speaking in an event without the support of my loving husband and my mother.
I completed my higher studies from SLIIT (Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology) in 2012, Since then I am passionate about trying new things, exploring innovative technologies. In terms of technology, I am in love with Microsoft .NET framework, specially .NET Core related services and recently I found Azure services interesting, So I spend my leisure time to explore them more.
What are your big projects right now?
I am currently working on an Australian project that helps to professionally negotiate and manage ancillary services from telecom to laundry, Law services to housekeeping tasks and much more.
I am maintaining a blog at https://hansamaligamage.blogspot.com/ where I share my knowledge and experience in .NET framework and Azure services and I am currently working on few wiki articles related to Azure Cosmos DB services and planning to do few technical sessions in SQL Saturday and Microsoft .NET Forum Sri Lanka.
What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?
Basically, It’s for all the tech enthusiasts. TechNet Wiki is a worldwide tech forum you can share your knowledge and experience as well as learn modern technologies.
What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?
TechNet Wiki is a great platform to share my experiences and findings. I try to write at least one article for a month and participate in TechNet Guru competition, I get feedback from many tech expertise around the globe and improve not only my technical skills but also my writing skills.
What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?
I am not alone, I can find set of technical expertise to guide me in the correct path. My articles and source codes are getting reviewed by them, it’s a team effort to publish a great article and a place to learn from my own mistakes.
In what other sites and communities do you contribute your technical knowledge?
I have my own blog site https://hansamaligamage.blogspot.com/ and few GitHub repositories in https://github.com/hansamaligamage to share my knowledge and experience.
What are your favorite Wiki articles you’ve contributed?
- This is my first article in TechNet Wiki, I won a Bronze medal in Visual C# technical Guru. I wrote this article NETCore: Create a Web API application to describe the sample code demonstrated in SL .NET Forum
- I won a Silver medal in Visual C# technical Guru for this article Secure your .NETCore web applications using IdentityServer 4, I wrote this article to explain a sample code presented in SL .NET Forum
- I won my first gold medal for this article NET Identity: Customize User Authentication, so it’s a special article for me
- I won a silver medal on Azure category for this article, Send smtp email with Azure blob storage attachments
- I won a silver medal on Azure category for this article, Explore Azure Cosmos DB - document API I wrote this article to provide guidance to one of my session in SL Data Community
- I got an opportunity to speak in SQL Saturday Sri Lanka this year, I published this article Azure Cosmos DB: Designing your data structure as a reference for that audience to grab the important things at a glance
What could we do differently on TechNet Wiki?
I love almost all the features in TechNet Wiki, anyone can correct your mistakes, add additional content. People can give their feedback on our articles, code samples. Other than that, if we can see article view count, so we can get to know about the audience of our article.
