SBSC in the new Microsoft Partner Network (MPN)
There are some changes for SBSC partners with the new MPN. I want to highlight these as you might be interested:
The qualifying exam set will be refreshed starting October 2010 to include only the most current exams available for the areas tested. We will continue to update the qualifying exams with new ones as they become available. The following is the current qualifying exam list for the Small Business Specialist Community:
Exam 70-653: TS: Windows Small Business Server 2008, Configuring
Exam 70-683: TS: Windows 7, Pre-installing for OEMs
Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008, Network Infrastructure, Configuring
Exam 70-543: TS: Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office
Note: If you passed one of the following exams to receive your Small Business Specialist designation, starting October 2010 your exam credentials must be updated by passing one of the previously listed exams by your re-enrollment date. Meaning, if your re-enrollment date is in February 2011, then you would need to update your credentials by that date.
The following exams no longer qualify for the Small Business Specialist designation:
Exam 70-282: Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for Small and Medium-sized Business
Exam 74-134: Pre-installing Microsoft Products and Technologies
Exam 70-654: TS: Windows Essential Business Server 2008, Configuring
Exam 70-236: TS: Exchange Server 2007, Configuring
Exam 70-631: TS: Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Configuring
Exam 70-655: TS: Windows Vista and Server operating systems, Pre-Installing for OEMs
I hope this helps. You can always reach out to the MPN Experts or myself with additional questions.
