Microsoft CRM Live SaaS (Software as a Service)

The Long and Winding Road...

I just can't believe it's been 2 months since I last posted an entry. My excuse, well first of all June was our financial year end, so it was all hands on deck trying to bring in those last few CRM deals. Next it was silly season with everyone taking their well-earned vacations. Finally, there was plenty of forecasting and planning for the new financial year. And now, here we are, in the middle of August - business as usual.

OK, so what's new in the world of Microsoft CRM? Well, Microsoft CRM Live was announced at the Worldwide Partner Conference (held in Boston, July 11th - 13th) by Steve Balmer during his keynote presentation. Brad Wilson (Microsoft CRM General Manager) showed a preview of product, and you can watch a recording of whole presentation here, skipping forward to 1:00:15 to get to Brad's section.

CRM Live will be available as part of our Live platform (Windows Live and Office Live) Q2 2007, and will be built on the next version of Microsoft CRM (codename 'Titan') which is due for release around the same time. The key point to note is that we will have a single code-base for Microsoft CRM whether you choose to deploy on-premise, partner-hosted or live, which means that solutions built for on-premise deployments will work in exactly the same way if you are using partner-hosted or live services.
