My thoughts on Google+
From a friend who posted it on imgur:
And now from xkcd:
My own experience with Google+ is the following: I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that it combines everything that Google does like Buzz, Picasa, and Chat (but thankfully not Wave).
But I still don’t get it.
I have gotten a bunch of invites from people who have added me to their circles and Google does seem to have gotten the privacy part right (for once)… but to me Google+ is a cheap version of Facebook (which is pretty difficult to do considering that Facebook is free). What exactly do they want me to do with it? That’s how I felt about Google Wave, btw.
I know why Google built Google+ – because Google doesn’t have a good story to social networking, and Bing includes your friends’ likes in its search results and Google thinks that’s a great idea. Plus, people spend more time on Facebook than Google and if eyeballs aren’t looking at Google, advertisers will put their dollars elsewhere and Google wants to draw them back.
But seriously, Google+? What am I missing here?
To me, it can be summed up in one word: Meh.

While G+ has some nice features, it has one problem. All your friends are on Facebook. When G+ has 500mil + users it will start getting interesting, but for now, not so much.Anonymous

There are about 10 million users who would disagree with this opinion, who have invested a little time learning what it's about and capable of.
