MSF exams?
Adrian asked: I noticed that the MCP exam 70-301 will be retiring next year. Are there any plans for a new MCP exam on Microsoft Solutions Framework 4.0?
Jeff (my friend and dev cert person) answered: Thanks for asking! We are currently looking in to the development of an MSF 4.0 exam. It’s still really early in the planning process so there’s not a lot I can tell you about the potential timing of the exam. I wish there was more information I could share with you at this point.
No one asked me, but I'll add something anyway: we will keep you posted via the MCP newsletter, etc. if/when that solidifies.

I use to think for years that I was the only person in the world called Adrian. Then I meet another older Adrian when I was 16 or so, at the time I was so angry that HE had copied my name! Now it doesn't bother me so much.. /Muse offAnonymous

Somewhat off-topic, but at least it's about another development exam: I was looking through the 'Number of MCPs' page, and (along with some naming inconsistencies I won't bother listing) I noticed what seems to be a disappearance. This certification was listed in the previous update (posted Feb 4, 2008, current up to approx. Jan 20?), but is gone in the current update (posted Apr 2, 2008, current up to approx. Mar 20?): MCTS - Microsoft Office 2007: Client Application Development I haven't been able to figure out what exam it is/was associated with, and it doesn't seem to have been directly replaced by any of the certs added this time. Does anyone know anything about that cert and why it disappeared? :curious:Anonymous

Alice: The MCTS Microsoft Office 2007: Client Application Development was once known as MCTS: Visual Studio Tools for the 2007 Microsoft Office System. It consists of exam 70-543. You are right that it has fallen off the chart. There were 19 people who had this certification in January 2008, but it is not listed this time. (Trika will correct me if I am wrong - my mom warned me about people like her. :-) )Anonymous

Hi Trika, This is a good news, I'm MSFv3 certified, but I work with infrastructure, the provable new MSF certification will have focus in Development. You know if MS have plans to a MOF certification? I don't talk about the MOF Foundation from EXIN, I'm talking about a possible MOF exam from Microsof, you know anything about this? tnx Cleber Marques www.clebermarques.comAnonymous

LarryWest: Thanks for the information! That exam had been out for 7 months already at the time of the January numbers. Perhaps more people would have earned the cert by now if they knew it existed. ;-)Anonymous
