Whistler instead of work...
It's been a fun but tiring weekend. After a couple of weeks of unseasonably warm weather in the Seattle area which melted all the snow on the mountains, it finally started falling again a couple of days ago, so we (Paula, me, and Per and Jason from p&p) decided to make a weekend of it up in Whistler. Although conditions weren't as good as they normally would be, it was still great for a mediocre skier like myself. Seeing so many fellow Australians as both staff and tourists was rather amusing. Interestingly enough, while there has been next to no snow in the area for the last few weeks until very recently, there has apparently been a bit in the ski areas of Australia. And for those geographically challenged, yes it is summer in Australia at the moment.
So anyway I'm back home now, enjoying a glass of wine and watching Finding Nemo, ready for another funfilled week. The last week has been pretty amazing - in the first 7 days after launching Enterprise Library we got over 10,000 downloads without any 'official' publicity other than the blogs and community site. Seeing the amount of excitement and activity is fantastic - we really appreciate everyone's support, and we look forward to your feedback to help us improve Enterprise Library in the future. Speaking of the future, one of the tasks on my plate for the next week is to put together some proposals for new projects that our group may bite off in the next fiscal year (July 2005-June 2006). We are already committed to moving forward on existing projects like Enterprise Library, Smart Client and others - but if you have any other suggestions that you'd like to throw into the cauldron, let me know!
Finally, for anyone in the San Francisco area or with the means to get there, try to get to VSLive. In addition to the official announcement of Enterprise Library (pretend to be surprised :-), Ron Jacobs and Scott Densmore will be there from our team to show and discuss Enterprise Library in sessions and in the corridors. Please stop by and say hello and don't be afraid to give your honest feedback. As for me, I'm too busy next week but I promise to show myself at a few events over the next year - and hopefully not just in the US!

Hi Tom,
for the cauldron: how about extending/modifying Shadowfax (http://workspaces.gotdotnet.com/shadowfx) to work with Enterprise Library?
