Enterprise Library Exit Poll is back

Over a year ago, we ran our first "Exit Poll" survey for Enterprise Library. This was an anonymous, web-based survey targeted at people who have completed a project using Enterprise Library, which asked a number of questions around your project, your team, how you used Enterprise Library, what worked well and what didn't work well. While we get all sorts of valuable feedback from mechanisms such as blogs, forums and events, surveys such as this are a great way for us to aggregate results from large numbers of people and use it to focus our efforts for the future.

We got a lot of great feedback from the first Exit Poll, so now it's back - and this time, we want to hear about your experiences with Enterprise Library for .NET Framework 2.0. Why are we running this now, over 6 months after the release? Well firstly, the Exit Poll is designed to capture your experience of using Enterprise Library across a complete project - and we all know that projects take time to complete. The other reason we want to run the survey now is that we are ramping up the planning effort for the next release of Enterprise Library, and the survey results will be a major input into this process.

If you're an Enterprise Library user but you haven't yet completed a project, don't worry - we still want to hear from you. We'll keep the Exit Poll running for a few months, so if your project completes before then you can always fill in the survey later. In addition, we'll give you plenty of other opportunities to contribute to the planning and prioritization for the next release - stay tuned to this blog for details.

If you're still with me and would like to complete the survey, here's the link. The survey is quite long and may take 15-20 minutes to complete, but your efforts will make a real difference to what we do. This time around I promise to do a better job at sharing the results and exposing our thinking for the next release.

And - if you're reading this, it means Windows Live Writer is working as expected :-)

Friendly warning: Expect 10 minutes to complete the ~38 questions.

Where are those Atlas Progress bars when you need them?!  :)

Just submitted the Exit Poll and there's something I forgot to mention:  it would be great to have more comprehensive how-to documentation/tutorials on ObjectBuilder and how it can be used outside of EntLib.
