Tip of the Day: Teams Status in Outlook

Todays' tip...

Most of us have transitioned to Teams by now. For those that haven’t, look into it! Something that you may be missing from Outlook if you weren’t aware of how to configure it: Teams Status in Outlook, much like you had with Skype for Business. Here’s how to implement that!

Open Teams.

Access Settings through your profile button in the top right:

Under the General tab, locate and select Register Teams as the chat app for Office (requires restarting Office applications).

Restart Outlook.

You can now see Teams' statuses in Outlook.

This is a great idea. Is there any way to configure this setting for multiple users? GPO, Registry Key, Intune? Thanks.

Not that I am aware of, but if there was a way, it should be able to be configured by an O365 Admin. If not, I'd submit the great idea to O365's UserVoice and get that voted up: https://office365.uservoice.com/.
