Excel 2007 charts missing elements after installing KB 2596596
After installing the fix from KB article 2596596 (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596596) you may find your charts are missing elements when printed. The missing elements can include chart titles, data lables and legends. They are seen on screen and in print preview, but when printed they don't show up.
Right now there is no fix for this problem, but Microsoft is aware and a fix will be addressed in an upcoming update. However, you can use the following workarounds:
1. Select the chart itself and then print only the chart;
2. Save the workbook to PDF format and print from Adobe;
3. Roll back the update you applied.
Thanks to Laura Holzwarth for writing up this content.
Update (2/7/2012) - The fix for this problem will be part of the February Cumulative Update, which will be released the last week of February.

You have to love it - they take working software, upgrade it without asking you, and then it doesn't work. "Roll back the upgrade" - how??? A link or instructions would be nice . . .Anonymous

By trial and error I found a method that works on my computer: By rightclicking on the chart-area of each chart and there,(make sure it is the area and not any axis or so) you can select "Format Chart Area..." Change the "Fill" to "No fill". Good Luck!Anonymous

Has the cumulative update been released yet? Could someone post a link to the update that will resolve this printing issue? CheersAnonymous

I take it this fix has only been released for the english version? Dutch version still has this issue. Proposed solution by selecting the chart and printing only that works just fine. No updates on update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate, none hidden either.Anonymous

5/3/12 -- Well, as of this morning I am current with all the updates, and I still found it necessary to uninstall KB2596596 to get charts to print with all the elements. So, now, please let us know when the real fix for this problem will occur. NSAnonymous

My capability to create charts of any kind is gone. Is there a way to reinstall the chart radio-button functions without an completly new reinstall of office 2007?
