SQLSaturday #491 in Pensacola FL - Saturday June 4th!

SQL Server 2016 will be releasing shortly and we have a couple of fantastic events coming up in Pensacola where you can learn more about it.
SQLSaturday #491 will take place on Saturday, June 4th at Pensacola State College and is a free event, as always.
In addition, we will also be hosting two full days of deep dive training on the Thursday and Friday prior to the SQLSaturday event (PreCon events). These PreCon days are "pay for" training, which will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 1144 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, from 9:00 to 4:30. Lunch is included in the registration fee (you can register to attend each day separately).
- On Thursday, June 2nd, Mike Lawell and Ed Watson will deliver training on "Getting the New DBA Up to Speed with Performance Tuning" . This training will go from beginner to intermediate level and the cost is $115. Full details on this session and to register can be found here.
- On Friday, June 3rd, David Pless (SQL Server MCM) will deliver training on "SQL Server 2014 and 2016 Performance Improvements and New Features" (see more details below). This training is a demo-driven workshop that will go from intermediate to advanced level. The cost is $125. Full details on this session and to register can be found here.

PRECON: SQL Server 2014 and 2016 New Features and Capabilities
David Pless will be covering key performance features such as In-Memory OLTP as well Columnstore Indexing. Also being explored will be Query Store, Always Encrypted, Dynamic Data Masking, Row Level Security, Stretch Database and improvements to Always-On Availability Groups.
We will be covering the SQL Server Reporting Services capabilities as well along with Power BI and Mobile Reporting to illustrate hybrid scenarios, the ability to run R Scripting, and how to leverage custom visuals across differing devices and browsers for a complete end to end reporting experience.
We will also cover performance monitoring strategies such as leveraging custom perform counters, leveraging the updated PAL tool, and technologies not to miss in SQL Server 2014.
