Acer + OneNote=Webcast for Educators

imageNote taking: The 21st Century way – that sounds like a good title for a book. Sorry I digress. We’re always asked by many people “what are the most impactful Microsoft tools for the classroom” and inevitably, OneNote comes up, usually first, but definitely not last on the list.

Surprisingly, there are many of you out there that have never heard of OneNote, which is why when Acer told me that they have an education webcast series, and one of their topics is about OneNote, I jumped at the chance to share with you. I know what you’re saying, “I already know how to use OneNote…” my question to you would be, “what about the teacher next door?”. I bet the answer is probably not, so luckily you can come to the rescue and tell them about the benefits of OneNote 2010, and better yet, introduce them to Note Taking: In the 21st Century (add echo, echo, echo hereSmile).

Duration:
2 hours

Description:

According to a Microsoft survey, nearly 40 percent of employed U.S. adults reported that they wanted a more efficient way to take notes. According to a survey carried out by Microsoft Research, 91 percent of us regularly take down handwritten notes, but only 26 percent of us transfer them to digital format, and 23 percent often can’t find our notes in the first place. It follows that there’s room to make note-taking work better. Microsoft has developed software routines that electronically ease much of the drudgery of note-taking and automate tasks that were impossible to do manually.
Because information is important to everyone, and using information effectively enhances productivity, OneNote can provide an excellent, easy-to-learn-and-use tool for capturing and sharing notes across a variety of media. Specifically, everyone connected to an academic institution can benefit in a number of ways by utilizing a flexible note-taking tool.
This session will demonstrate the multiple ways Microsoft OneNote can and has been utilized by education institutions.
