SQL Server 2008 SP4 and SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 now available in Microsoft Update Catalog
SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 4 and SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 3 were the last service packs for both versions respectively and were originally released in Microsoft Download Center in Sept 2014. Due to popular demand we have also made them available on Microsoft Update Catalog. You can download them from the catalog by adding the packages to the basket.
UPDATE (July 01 2016): The packages are also available in the WSUS catalog.

Fails: "This update cannot be imported into Windows Server Update Services, because it does not have the required applicability information" - Anonymous

I tried to add the SQL 2008 R2 SP3 from the catalog to WSUS so I'd be able to automatically deploy it. But I get the following error message: This update cannot be imported into Windows Server Update Services, because it does not have the required applicability information. So currenntly I see no real benefit in having these SPs in the catalog. - Anonymous

Can confirm we're also seeing the same problem per the earlier two commenters w.r.t. the import error:"This update cannot be imported into Windows Server Update Services, because it does not have the required applicability information."We've verified this on two independent WSUS servers. Can you please advise? Thanks in advance. - Anonymous
