SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 Customer Technology Preview Available

Dear Customers,

 

Today marks the release of the Customer Technology Preview (CTP) for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4. This CTP release of Service Pack 4 is meant for testing purposes only. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 CTP 1 includes:

  • All hotfixes released up to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP3 Cumulative Update 1 to 11.

We encourage customers to try Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP4 CTP, and provide us your feedback. We are actively reading all feedback and appreciate any thoughts that you might have to help us with this product update. To provide feedback please visit the Microsoft Connect Feedback Center.

    Why SP4 does not include cumulative update package 12 for SQL Server 2005 SP3?

    The version of SQLEXPR.EXE published on 11/3 does not appear to resolve the setup failure documented in KB968749 (support.microsoft.com/.../968749). Is this on the table for SP4?
