Can you clarify why a CU has been issued for SQL Server 2012, when SP1 and CU1 to SP1 has already been released. In other words, if you have applied SP1 and/or CU1 to SP1, are all the fixes in this CU5 included? Also, if you've applied SP1, presume that you shouldn't apply CU5, which please confirm. thanks!Anonymous

If you haven't noticed, they always release cu's for all the supported versions of sql server. And they state that the previous version of a SP will be supported for about a year after the new SP. You can't apply this CU5 if you have applied SP1. Also, SP1 (and CU1) doesn't (propably) include ANY of the fixes in this RTM CU5. CU2 for SP1 will be release some time in january. Propably in the next two weeks. I guess generally they try to do the patches for the newest SP first, but because SP1 was just released they have still been working on the RTM version when starting to develop these fixes.Anonymous
