Hi, I would like to know if either SP1 or CU1 includes the security patch KB2494088. If not, will it be included in next CUs? Thank you.Anonymous

If SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 CTP has been installed, what is the recommendation now that SP1 is released, and now this CU1? Should the SP1 CTP be uninstalled so the released version can be installed, or are the CTP and actual release the same build? I have reviewed the release notes and readme files without finding any guidance on this. Thank you.Anonymous

Hi Francisco, June 2011 security patch MS11-049 is included in SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 RTM. See sqlblog.com/.../sql-server-2008-r2-service-pack-1-is-now-available.aspx You can trust words of Aaron Bertrand, Glen Berry and his reliable source here. It seems people are very concerned about this patch and keep asking here and there. Why this information isn't published in SP1 release notes? Thanks.Anonymous

Hi Rob, The CTP of 2008 R2 SP1 is a different build to the final release of SP1 - but there is no need to uninstall, you can simply install final SP1 over CTP and it upgrades fine; then you can install the CU1. Alternatively you can slipstream CU1 into the SP1 files and install in one go. :-) Gary.Anonymous
