The companies recently joined forces to conduct real-world scalability and performance testing for ArcFM Solution (Telvent’s set of models and tools for telecommunication providers and electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities) running on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. The tests used standard commodity servers and storage to confirm a realistic total cost of ownership (TCO).
The test results confirmed that ArcFM Solution running on the Microsoft platform is a highly scalable solution that is capable of supporting 10 million customers and providing a reliable foundation for a smart grid solution with a leading price-to-performance ratio.
