My New Role

Working on interoperability at Microsoft over the past few years has been a phenomenal experience. I have had the opportunity to publish many articles, create videos, write a book, publish sample code, interact with many fine people, speak at events across the world, and even meet Bill in person ;-). Over the past few months I've been looking at how I can expand my scope beyond interoperability - which resulted in accepting a new position in Microsoft last week.

In my new role I’ll be building a team to focus on content and community for the architect audience – namely finding out ways Microsoft can create better architect-level content and how we can incubate and promote communities for actively supporting architects across the world.

I’m very excited about the role and opportunities that lie ahead - and to get things going, I’ve been doing some hiring. Ron Jacobs started on the team last week, which is just awesome. If you’ve not seen any of Ron’s previous work for our patterns and practices group, you should definitely check out his site.

This blog will of course continue as is – with hopefully the same frequency of posts once I get up to speed in the new role, although now with more of an emphasis to architecture rather than solely interoperability-related topics. I enjoy the feedback that comes from writing here and I hope you will continue to subscribe.

Stay tuned ;-)
