The Deployment Sessions-002: Sideloading Windows 8 app with Configuration Manager 2012 SP1

In this Deployment Sessions video I take you through deploying a line of business app using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 to “side load” a Windows Store app. The app is in the form of an appx package, something that an ISV might give to a customer for them to deploy internally.

If you want to try this at back at the office there are some things you’ll need to have:

• Build a lab environment using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 and Windows Server 2012.
• You will need to enable enterprise side loading using group policy, see Windows 8 Sideloading requirements on TechNet.
• The easiest way to test with the Windows 8 Enterprise evaluation.
• Finally you’ll need an app…You can run one up in moments with ZipApp.

  great video. Just wondering how I need to configure an app update in sccm. If I choose supersedence with uninstall, the new version is installed, but I need to reauthorize all permissions... If I don't select uninstall I get an error saying a package with the same identity is already installed. Could you please give me some advice how to configure an app update??
