More Power = Less Power

Hi I’m Andrew Fryer and I have hacked into Simon May’s blog, to show you how more power uses less power.  I was checking out the latest technical goodness on the Dell stand at TechEd and I noticed they had a couple of their laptops hooked up to power meters one of which was a trusty old Dell 630 the other one of their state of the art machines sporting an Intel i7 processor. The rig shows how power management on the newer processors is surface through the Dell firmware to Windows 7  to carefully control the power used compared to what was possible 4 years ago.
