Post Steps

System Copy

You can also copy your SAP System that is running on an older SQL Server to a machine running a new SQL Server with the following steps:

  • Make sure that your source system is at least on SAP BASIS SP 26
  • Copy your SAP system using
    • Update: The 70SWPM SAR archive
    • Update: The 70SWPM Kernel DVD
    • The DVDs that were originally shipped with the Business Suite 2005 Support Release 3 (Export DVD, Java DVD, language DVDs…)
  • Upgrade your kernel to the latest 7.20 EXT DCK

The steps for a System Copy where the source SAP system is already running on SQL 2012 are the same.

You said: Begin paste: •Kernel DVD ◦Update: Please use the Kernel DVD that is shipped with 70SWPM. This Kernel DVD already contains a 7.20/7.20 EXT kernel. End Paste I tried to do a system copy and pointed it to the swpm extracted directory with a label.asc.  I got this error: (unable to fins label.asc.  Look for label sap akk:72Kernel*.windows_X86_64.)   The label.asc at the root of the swpm directory reads: ND:SLTOOLSET:1.0:SWPM::WINDOWS_X86_64:* Do I just rename the label.asc?
