Live Search for Windows Mobile -- Now with Speech Recognition!!
The press release just went live. The web site is online. And the details are all spelled out.
Here's what the press release has to say about Live Search:
Live Search for Windows Mobile with voice input. The updated Live Search for Windows Mobile® 5.0 and 6.0 will be available for download for free on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and now includes voice input (beta version), gas prices, and hours of operation for businesses. The service can also use Global Positioning System (GPS) data on GPS-enabled phones to provide location-aware local search for customers.
Yeah, that's right. Instead of having to type out all those business listings and locations with your thumbs on your tiny phone keypads, now you can simply enter text into Live Search on your phone using speech recognition technologies developed right here at Microsoft!!

Hmm, installed fine but "Enable speech recognition" is greyed out in the Settings. installed to SD card on a Vodafone V1615 (HTC Kaiser WM6) Any ideas on why speec does not work?Anonymous

Change your location to a US one and the speech option magically appears! Works really well too, if I ask for a mcdonalds with my rubbish american accent :)Anonymous

Hey Rob! Aleis again....anyway we can get a button to activate GPS when on the map view. so if im on the map and i find what i want, have the GPS show me where i am in relation to where i just located simply by "clicking" GPS? and not center on gps which takes you off the map view. anything on the tracking your buddies feature? helio has it! microsoft does something with sprint in regard to tracking...Anonymous
