Clinique brings Surface to the Clinique Smart Bar

Clinique Smart Bar With Products WideBack in 1968, Clinique debuted as the world’s first dermatologist developed cosmetics brand, before futuristic tools such as Microsoft Surface were invented. But this is 2011, and the innovative team at Clinique is bringing Surface to The Clinique Smart Bar . The Clinique experience on Surface is perfect for groups and busy shoppers to get easy access to reviews, how to videos. They can add their favorite products to a virtual basket that leads to an express checkout and sharing on Facebook.

The new experience will debut at Bloomingdale’s flagship store at 59th Street in New York City this month.

@Rico - My company developed the solution, to be fair I don't think MS had a video, although we would gladly provide one if the customer approved :). Just to add some color, all the development was done on Windows 7 64-bit and using .NET 4.  On Surface 1.0 it's normally Vista 32-bit and .NET 3.5 but we managed to minimize most of the differences between Surface 1.0 and Win7 WPF.  Of course now with Surface 2.0 all devs will get a similar experience. The Surface is a great experience, hopefully the new less expensive version will extend it's reach. Regards, Lee Whitney BT Solutions Development Center www.bt.com
