XNA and Robotic Studio Madness
Via Dani...
Do you like your XBox? How would you like to build your own games for it? XNA Game Studio Express is a great tool that will let you do just that. Come on out this Saturday to Malvern, Pennsylvania as Nick Landry, Mitch Ruebush, and Lindsay Rutter show you all the ins and outs of game and robotics programming. It's a nice break from the usual development type of tasks we all have to do for work. Make some fun out of it. Details below from Dani's post on it:
Aside from the Silverlight Firestarter event being held Saturday 15th at the Microsoft office in Malvern, PA, we are also hosting a XNA Studio and Robotic Studio event. We originally planned to host these events on separate days but since December is a busy months, we decided to combine the two. Register here
Here is the agenda for the XNA and Robotics tracks:
8:30 - 9:30 - Breakfast and Registration
9:30 – 10:30 - Introduction to Microsoft Robotic Studio
10:30 – 11:30 - Robotic Studio Essentials
11:30 – 12:30 - Lunch
12:30 – 1:30 - Introduction to Microsoft XNA Game Studio
1:30 – 2:30 - XNA Essentials
2:30 – 2:45 - Break
2:45 – 3:45 - Building 3D Games with XNA Game Studio and C# Part 1
3:45 – 4:45 - Building 3D Games with XNA Game Studio and C# Part 2
I am also exited to announce that we have some great speakers for this event. All three are excellent presenters that really know their stuff.
How many Microsoft presenters can claim they were "locked in" at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with Mira Sorvino? Lindsay, for one. It's a story you'll have to get straight from the source. She has also produced content for a high traffic television network site and the internet division of one of America's largest banks, where she helped to choose and implement a deployment tool for multiple data centers. Lindsay enjoys coding in C++, but admits that C# is quickly vying for her affections. She's also proficient in Unix, Visual Studio 2005, OOD concepts, HTML/CSS, XML, Java, JavaScript, Perl, .NET, relational database concepts, and computer security and forensics tools including Autopsy and Encase 5.0. Lindsay graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, where she was part of a team that researched how to implement an Internet-capable computer lab in a school in N'Djili in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – an area that has no telephone services and receives electricity only three days per week. As a developer, Lindsay loves solving technical problems and formulating solutions that are precisely tailored to her clients' needs.
