Photosynth Collaboration with BBC

Just about a year ago, Microsoft announced Photosynth.  Photosynth can take a collection of photos of a place or an object, analyze them for similarities, and then display them in a reconstructed three-dimensional space.  This is an amazing way to piece together photos of a location and get a sense of how they all fit together.  It's hard to describe, but you just have to see it.

In November, the Photosynth released a public beta on the web.  Last week, they announced a new collaboration they have been working on with the BBC.  It supports a BBC television program called "How We Built Britain".  The public beta has now been updated to include the "synths" famous locations in the UK.  You've got to log in and try this thing out!  I just "flew" around the "synth" of Bath, a place I've visited a few times while staying in the UK.  I can't wait until I'm able to do this with my own photos one day!
