Learning IronPython #1: Introduction
Lots of folks in my organization have been talking about IronPython. (For those of you who don't know what this is, IronPython is the code name of an implementation of the Python programming language that targets the Microsoft .NET platform.)
I started programming in Microsoft Visual Basic, then I added C and C++ programming, and then Microsoft Visual C#. Until recently, I hadn't heard of Python at all, although apparently it has been around since 1990, according to Wikipedia. As I now turn my attention to IronPython programming to find out what the buzz is all about, I am becoming more impressed.
I'd like to begin capturing my discoveries and observations as I go down this path, and I'll share them with you through my blog. I certainly don't pretend to be an expert with this stuff, so I greatly appreciate your feedback, comments, and corrections as I go along. I hope you enjoy this series!
