Getting Started
Hi! My name is Paul Cornell, and I am a Documentation Manager for Microsoft Visual Studio. What does a Documentation Manager do, you may ask? Well, simply put, I guide teams of writers and editors to produce high-quality technical documentation on time and on budget.
Up until late last year, I managed documentation projects for Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System, Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications, the Microsoft Visual Studio core integrated development environment (IDE), and MSBuild. Since then, I've transitioned off of the Visual Studio Tools for Office and Visual Studio Tools for Applications documentation projects, and I took on new documentation projects covering Visual Studio core Automation and Extensibility and the Visual Studio Software Development Kit (SDK).
My goals for this blog are to:
- Point you to interesting Help topics covering the Visual Studio core IDE, MSBuild, Visual Studio core Automation and Extensibility, and the Visual Studio SDK.
- Get your input as I prepare with my teams of writers and editors to create new documentation for future releases of Visual Studio, MSBuild, and the Visual Studio SDK.
- Share interesting information tidbits with you about what's happening with Visual Studio, MSBuild, and the Visual Studio SDK.
I look forward to sharing information with you and receiving your feedback!
