Everyone is talking about workflow

Paul Ballard at TheServerSide.net has just published a filmed interview that Scott Woodgate and I recorded the day before the Windows Workflow Foundation announcement.  You can see the glass elevators behind us on the outside of the hotel where we filmed the interview.

Check out blogs from David Chappell and Dino Esposito.  They have written introductory articles on Windows Workflow Foundation which are available on MSDN now.  David's articles is a high level overview of Windows Workflow Foundation and Dino's article is a developer walkthrough that introduces developers to the tools through a sample.

offcourse i think its really a huge and exciting news. WWF Rocks! , well i had some
toughts in mind can u clear them up

Q)I had already a custom WorkFlow soultion build on top of .net , now what are the top 5 do's amd don'ts that i must consider before switching to WWF ?

    Q) I am working with CMS 2002 , which provides the basic workflow (author -->Editor ) , now if i am planning for future what are the most important factors that we had to carter first (e.g context , roles etc )

    Q) The initial lookup at WWF gives the impression that The SharePoint Portal Server 2003 can elevate WWF to huge extend , but does the upcomming version will provide automatic support , or i build some sort of support layer for it now and later move it in future .

    Q) We already had workflows in place (from medium to lagre sizes ) can we conider a possiblity to shift them to WWF or this will be so resourse intesive task that its not feassible at all ?

    Hi Razi,

Lots of good questions here which we should open up to a wider discussion. Please post on http://www.windowsworkflow.net/forums and we can discuss there.

Specifically on the third question. Yes, the next version of Sharepoint in the Office "12" timeframe will include document workflow support based on Windows Workflow Foundation.

    Regards,
    Paul
