"Launch Event" in Reno This Year

If you read this blog much, you'll know I'm a big fan of the Reno National Championship Air Racing event held every September. Like many years past I will be there taking in the sights and sounds of the fastest motorsport on earth.

The difference is that this year I'll be there with a team of Aces people showing off our latest pride and joy the "Flight Simulator X - Acceleration" expansion pack. We will invite the gaming and aviation press to see and fly virtual races, new missions, and conduct interviews. We've been planning this event for some time and Dave and the other good folks at the Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) and the T-6 Racing Association are working with us to make sure we are setup for success. Robert Randozzo from PMDG has been very helpful getting the connections for us to have space in the pits as well. Thanks Robert! Here is a shot of Robert's T-6 "Grace 8" (note the PMDG and AVSim logos). This year Grace 8 is getting a new livery matching what it wore in it's WWII squadron. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

We plan to have a display area near the main gate where we will be conducting multi-player races with whomever wants to participate as well as a special location in the pit area which MotoArt is helping us setup. Hopefully we will have some races with the real air racing pilots as well, which would be fun to participate in.

If you like aviation, amazing aircraft, exciting racing, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the opportunity to see "Flight Simulator X - Acceleration" first hand before we ship, then make your reservations NOW. It may already be difficult to find accomodations, so if you are interested in going, now is the time to make your plans.

 See you there!

I really appreciate the personal response Paul, and although to most of us Microsoft are seen as a huge, faceless corporation, folks like yourself and Phil bring the human element back into the community. I am still experiencing problems, but Phil is kindly offering some help over on AVSim now so maybe we'll find a solution. Apologies if I sounded a bit down about the 'Acceleration' add-on - I didn't mean to rain on your parade! :) Boy, am I envious of Reno though... :p
