Tech·Ed Europe Returns to Berlin, Day 4

Is it already Thursday?  Where did the week go!

The morning started off 5C and raining.  That's not so bad since I left Seattle when it was raining as well, so not much difference.  However,in the evening the winds picked up and the Office client team were faced with the cold front when we left Messe Berlin for the day.

Every day at TechEd has been exciting, meeting with fellow IT Pros and talking about how they have deployed Office in their environment.  That is something I don't get to do everyday in Redmond.

This was the last full day of sessions, hands-on-labs, and access to the Technical Learning Centre (TLC) since Friday is a shorter day.  We still had a lot of attendees coming by the booth, talking to us about the POC CD and deployment concerns, looking for a t-shirt in their size (we were down to just a few Small), and filling out the survey.  There were a couple repeat visitors that just couldnt get enough of us or perhaps they had just come from one of the sessions presented by one of the members of the Office client team - which inturn spurred more questions.  Some of the questions were more in-person troubleshooting support calls, but today there were a few more requests for demo'ing features of Office 2010.  That's always a fun part, especially when you see how thrilled the attendees are to see something for the first time.  The PowerPivot (www.powerpivot.com) in Excel.  The transitions and animations within PowerPoint. The functionality of co-authoring with Word, and the Win-S key combination to clip a selected area and place into OneNote (or copy to the clipboard).

As the hours passed on, some of our new winners arrived to claim their gifts from filling out the survey.  But things were beginning to wind down as the last sessions for the evening finished up and the attendees did one more sweep of the TLC floor.

It will be a shame to leave Berlin, but it has been a very rewarding experience and a great oppurtunity to meet so many IT Pro's that have kindly exchanged business cards, so that we can continue our discussions post-TechEd Europe.

One last compilation of TechEd in Berlin, through the lens of my camera.  TechEd Day 4.  Enjoy!

Very nice interviews.  I am always surprised by the number of people that have to support deployments of thousands of desktops.
