Office 2010 Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool download available

Microsoft has released Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool (OCT) for Office 2010. You can download the files from the Microsoft Download Center: Office 2010 Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=189316).

Along with the Administrative Template and OCT files, the download includes an Excel workbook, Office2010GroupPolicyAndOCTSettings.xls, which provides information about the Group Policy and OCT settings.

The download also includes Release Notes (Office2010AdministrativeTemplateFilesDownload_ReleaseNotes.doc) which provide information about settings that differ from the policy settings listed in the Office2010GroupPolicyAndOCTSettings.xls Excel reference that is included with the download package for Office 2010 Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool. This is due to code updates that were made after the policy settings reference was created.

For more information about this download, see Office 2010 Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=190598). For information about the new and removed Group Policy settings and Office Customization Tool (OCT) settings for Office 2010, see Group Policy settings reference for Microsoft Office 2010 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=189156).

For information about configuring Group Policy settings, see  Enforce settings by using Group Policy in Office 2010 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179081(office.14).aspx).

For information about configuring user settings with the OCT, see Office Customization Tool in Office 2010 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179097(office.14).aspx) and Configure user settings for Office 2010 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178990(office.14).aspx).

Only 32-bit Admin templates? Where is AdminTemplates_64.exe?

How am I supposed to use the 2007 template policies and the 2010 policies at the same time? Everything I tried didn't work and I had to remove the 2007 templates...how can I support both 2007 and 2010 policies without a massive 2010 client upgrade?

In this download are 11 languages, but not the dutch one. Are there administrative templates in the dutch language?

Hi, Does anyone know of a way to use a GPO to enable the basic add-ins that come standard with Excel?  I want the following Add-ins to be enabled for all of my users:

  • Analysis ToolPack
  • Analysis ToolPack VBA
  • Euro Currency Tools
  • Solver Add-in I used to make this happen by imaging my machines and tweaking the default profile so these add-ins were already selected, but it's a lot of work and I was hoping to just apply the change with a GPO. Thanks in advance for any help.
