This just in. Exchange, IE, Monad news
Its been quiet around here, I've been on a long overdue holiday, overseas :) But I'm back now rested, relaxed and firing on all cylinders:
IE7 beta2 releases to the web and is now downloadable (including the real Beta 2 of IE7 for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1, and Windows XP 64-bit) https://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/04/24/582546.aspx
Exchange "12" is now Exchange Server 2007 https://blogs.technet.com/exchange/archive/2006/04/25/426300.aspx
Monad/MSH, the task-based command line shell and scripting language becomes Windows PowerShell - more detail on the Windows Server blog https://blogs.technet.com/windowsserver/archive/2006/04/25/426277.aspx and PowerShell blog https://blogs.msdn.com/powershell
And some stuff from the Microsoft Management Summit 2006 (The Microsoft Management Summit 2006 (MMS) is hosted in San Diego this year and is the only conference that focuses entirely on management with over 3,000 attendees.)
See the official press release at https://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2006/apr06/04-25MMS06KeynotePR.mspx
You can find out more at the newly launched System Center site at https://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/systemcenter/default.mspx
MOM 2005 with Service Pack 1 now supports SQL 2005 https://blogs.technet.com/momteam/archive/2006/04/25/426294.aspx
At MMS2006 System Center codename "Service Desk" was announced (our ITIL/MOF based, SDM-based CMDB that is integrated into our management products and includes all product knowledge) https://blogs.technet.com/servicedesk/archive/2006/04/25/426302.aspx
We also announced that the next version of MOM and SMS will be renamed to align with System Center. MOM V3 will be named System Center Operations Manager 2007, while SMS V4 will become System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
