WPF Demo Reel and my code from Tech.Ed

Judging by the fact that 2 WPF sessions featured in the top 10 at Tech.Ed NZ and that they were the #1 and #2 demo sessions… I've had a lot of people asking me if they could get their hands on the demo reel that I mashed up for showcasing WPF aps built by Microsoft and our partners.

I have padded out the demo reel with my own demo app from Tech.Ed based on Fil Fortes' original work. Everything you find on this reel has been made out of videos found elsewhere on the web (PDC, MIX06 ,Channel 9, seewindowsvista.com etc etc).

DJ LOGIKAL has played support for - CYPRESS HILL (NZ Tour) - MISSY ELIOT - NELLY - AKON - METHOD MAN & REDMAN - DJ PREMIER (Gangstarr) to name a few and yesterday he was creating original sounds for our WPF mash-up... so without further ado… drum roll please.

Following on from Tech.Ed the completed application from my session is available here (written for June CTP of .NET Framework 3… it should work on later versions)… and Chuck recorded my Tuesday session (Murphy's Law the Wednesday one went better) if you like to check it out… quality is not great… I'll do a screen cast soon of the session and post that.

On top of this Arik and I had an interview with Richard MacManus during Tech.Ed who has done a post early this morning on the soon to be released New York Times Reader.

I also promised to repost the link to Karsten's WPF learning resources… I did a post on this here but in case you missed it… Karsten's Five Day Course for Hitting the WPF Curve.

Mike Swanson started a contest yesterday that challenges you to build a freely-available tool that converts from an existing 2D or 3D graphics format to WPF/XAML. Mike himself built a XAML plugin for Adobe Illustrator that I used to produce the map of NZ I used in my demo.

Check out Shaxam on 9 or ZAM 3D and get started! I'm waiting for Right Hemisphere (a massive NZ success story with a relatively small local profile) to release the new version of their Deep Exploration product with XAML support… this ap is profiled on seewindowsvista and is the skateboard visual in the demo reel.

It is also funny to see where this stuff was a year ago when it was still Avalon!

As Karsten says 'XAML' that's a code name too and it may not stick! Well that one stuck baby! What about that version of Notepad written in WPF!?
