VS2005 Update - What You Have Been Waiting For!

This https://blogs.msdn.com/somasegar/archive/2005/08/22/451026.aspx is quite possibly one of the most important posts that you will read this week!

Summary:

  1. There is an August CTP release of Visual Studio 2005.
  2. In September we will see the first Visual Studio 2005 Release Candidate (“RC”) (available to our MSDN subscribers, early adopters, and beta customers).
  3. Simultaneously with Visual Studio 2005 RC1, we will also release Beta 3 of Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (TFS).
  4. TFS Beta 3 will include a Go Live license along with technical support for Premier customers, enabling organisations to deploy their Team System collaboration tools immediately.
  5. The Go Live license will enable us to solicit an additional round of feedback from customers prior to shipping.
  6. Visual Studio 2005 is slated to launch on November 7, 2005 in San Francisco.
  7. TFS will ship in the first quarter of 2006, all data within TFS Beta 3 will migrate seamlessly and in-place to the final version of TFS.
