Finally got to read the SOA Reference Model from OASIS
It's a gem. I never want to hear "there's too many definitions of SOA" or "There's no definitive definition of SOA" ever again.
There is. It is here.

Right on Nick. What's more it's an enlightened view that really hits on why we call these things "services", and doesn't just see SOA as "integration using standards".Anonymous

Glad you like the RM Nick. The OASIS SOA-RM TC is currently working on the SOA Reference Architecture. We're a friendly bunch, dealing with a pretty complex task, so please feel free to drop on in and participate :-)Anonymous

Hi Anil, In addition to the job I have that consumes a bit more than my full time, I'm also writing a book at the moment. I appreciate the invitation, and will ask around to see what 'softie is involved, but I doubt it will be me. -- NickAnonymous

Ah.. Completely understand. Wish you success with the book. Just as an FYI, while there are 'softies participating in other OASIS WS TC's, at this point in time, there is no active participation (listserve, F2F meetings) by anyone from MSFT on the SOA-RM TC. Would love to see that change.
