Office 2010 is launching soon in New Zealand, come along to this session to find out what's new for IT professionals in Office 2010. Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 empowers people to do their best work from more places – whether they’re using a PC, phone or web browser. In this session we will cover:
- Office 2010 System Requirements including how to maximise performance on new and existing hardware
- Deployment considerations including 64 bit deployment and Application Virtualisation
- Planning for Security in Office 2010, including how to reduce risk and deploy layered security
- Deployment tools for Office 2010, including customising Setup and creating a network installation point
- Application compatibility in Office 2010, including the Office 2010 Code Compatibility Inspector and Office Environment Assessment Tool (OEAT)
- Planning for Volume Activation in Office 2010
Session 2: SharePoint 2010 Overview

Nathan Mercer
Nathan has been working with Microsoft-based networks since the "good ol' days" of Windows NT 3.x, and has been with Microsoft New Zealand since 2000 as a Systems Engineer, Technology Specialist and now as an IT Pro Technology Advisor. He is responsible for making sure New Zealand’s IT Pro’s are fully briefed on infrastructure-related Microsoft software.

Steve Letford
Steve has been working at Microsoft since March 2008 as a technical specialist on SharePoint. Steve has been in the IT industry for 12 years and prior to working at Microsoft had several different roles including BI Manager, Platform Development Manager of SharePoint, Applications Manager and developer. Steve has been involved in both the management and development of large multi-tiered projects within New Zealand and the UK.
Steve has certifications in the following areas: Bachelor of Computing Systems, Project Management (Prince 2), Scrum Master, MCSD.Net and MCTS (SharePoint)
