Why do you salute them? Are they in the army? If so, they should be shot, or put like pigs in a cage, in Cuba.

I salute them, because here in the US, we don't have to worry about death threats to go vote and exercise our free will and free speech.

I was born in the Middle East, and live there as a child in a special compound for foreigner workers. The Iraqi citizens are voting with free will for the first time in 50 years. They're voting under the threat of death and violence to themselves and their families. What the citizens of Iraq have demonstrated this weekend was very brave, and for that I salute them as I would salute anybody does the right thing in the face of great adversity.

I was in a meeting in 2001 with some other Microsoft employees to listen to Bill Gates talk about why he gives so much money to those outside the US. His answer was because if there is anything he can control about his life, looks, parents, genes, what have you; it would be where he was born. He would choose to be born in the United States, because of our great access to medicine and education; he would have a greater chance for survival and a better life. He wants that for those outside the United States.

I see a free Iraq nation that can now take charge of their lives without having to live under the oppression of Saddam Hussein. Start your own business; say what you want and do what you want responsibly, and a chance to better the lives of their families and those around them. So I salute them for doing the right thing.

    Regards,

Josh, silly naive Josh! I too salute them. As long as they want to live in a better place without the desire to endanger anyone outside their borders. As an American votrer, I have the critical thinking ability to realize that freedom is not free. I won't address most of your blathering hyperbole, but yes, I voted for more death and destruction - of those who choose not to play nice in MY world.

Iran, Syria and N Korea are looking over their shoulders right now, and there are a lot more out there who think like me than FEEL like you.

Hyperbole is fun, isn't it Josh? -you don't have to think past myopia, do you?
