BUILD Conference Sells Out

I'm registered to attend the highly-anticipated Microsoft BUILD conference, scheduled for September 13-16 in Anaheim, California. But I seem to be one of the lucky ones. According to the registration page, BUILD has already sold out. This, despite the fact that the conference Web site reveals no detailed agenda and no featured keynote speaker.

I don't think we need a detailed agenda to know that BUILD is going to be big--really, really big. The Windows 8 operating system, first previewed earlier this summer, will be a cornerstone of the event. And developers are anxiously awaiting details on Microsoft's emergent HTML5 and JavaScript development strategy, which took center stage during the recent Windows 8 demos. I expect we'll also learn a whole lot about Microsoft's plans for XAML and Silverlight development going forward. And I'm certain there will be more.

Could this be the biggest Microsoft developer event since the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) in 2000 launched the .NET era? I couldn't tell you. But I'm certainly anxious to find out.

Alex: Relax :-), .NET is everywhere just now, its perfect platform for backend and for most of desktop or even mobile use. MS must simply cope with HTML5 coming and I believe he will, in surprisingly good way ... BTW, its only about UI for performance constraint non-MS devices where nobody has force to push Silverlight in... "XAML. Nothing else matters." :-)
