Microsoft CRM and creating 'single' Word documents..
In my eight years of working with several great CRM solutions I "think" I know what a user want and doesn't want. When we take a look at Microsoft CRM it is hard to create a "single" document and save it within Microsoft CRM. Microsoft CRM is a flexible solution and to make this challenge a little easier we would need to build something for it. So normally I am not easy to get enthusiastic over tools or solutions but recently I saw a tool that solves this in almost the way I would solve it.
The c360 Word Mail Merge is a Microsoft CRM enhancement that allows you to create Word documents with data from Microsoft CRM. Word Mail Merge enables you to create a mail merge using CRM fields/entities, add additional fields to the mail merge, create letter-activity directly from Word and add Word documents directly to CRM entities. Maybe a Program Manager will read this post and ask me what changes I would make and put this standard in Microsoft CRM?

I couldn't agree more! We just implemented this solution at a client who is running the CRM-GP Connector and has multiple quote and invoice report requirements. c360 Mail Merge is much easier the other options involving Visual Studio and/or SRS.Anonymous

Good to hear that Seth! Have you ever seen similair solutions like this? And does everybody think this feature would need to be a "standard" option within Microsoft CRM?Anonymous

Other than the SNAP Connector, I haven't seen another solution that does as well allowing seamless integration between Microsoft CRM and Microsoft Word. What's great is that you can also kickoff Microsoft CRM activities such as emails or letters directly from the c360's Mail Merge solution. The only trouble spot we seem to be having with it is the ability to merge multiple Quote or Invoice Products into Quote or Invoice reports. I think I just need to figure out what kind of macro in Microsoft Word to use.Anonymous
