Enterprise Architecture in the Time of the Cloud
Yesterday I presented at the Gartner Enterprise Architecture Summit in Grapevine, Texas. A great venue and a great audience, and thanks to Gartner for the opportunity and thanks to all who came for the fabulous reception.
Many have asked for the slides so I've attached the deck to this blog post.
Enjoy, and happy architecting!

Great presentation Barry. I like the reference to the Gartner 5R's. Cloud migration is a lot like an M&A scenario and too often the portfolio is looked at purely from a technical perspective. Business capabilities (why), Business intent ( what to buy, hold, sell) and business value realization (day 1, transition, "new Cloud company" is a great analogy. I think that this is particularly effective in having a business discussion - especially in terms of positioning Hybrid cloud as a transition state and why the buy, hold, sell decisions across the portfolio are critical to establishing and driving a business driven migration plan.Anonymous

Great post! I shared it with some product-specialists consultants - SharePoint, RMS, System Center, Exchange, etc. They complained they are not in the left side of the "IT skill sets will evolve in the cloud era" slide :-) Any specific advice for "infra" guys, other than fit into some of the roles in the right? Thanks!Anonymous
