Great news for fans of std::sort(list.begin(), list.end()) who write managed code: Visual C++ 2005 is planning to include a reworked version of the STL combining good old C++ template syntax with the new CLI generics underpinnings.

Stan Lippman has posted a primer on MSDN.

My enthusiasm stems from the (possibly perverse) notion that, once you've gone through the pain of learning a less-than-intuitive concept or skill, it's nice to retain it. Same impetus that keeps me installing vim and XEmacs on Win32 machines . . .
