CRM – Can I Search on Notes?
At our Atlanta Executive Series event, we had a great question on searching for information that may be in the "Notes" section for an account.
Q:
Does your CRM program allow searching on the notepad? So if you were looking for someone and all you could remember was they had a broken arm, could your search the entire database notepad for broken arm?
A:
If you created an attribute in CRM to track the broken arm, you could search based on the value in that field. However if that txt is located in the Note section which I think they are asking for as there are notes for entities in CRM then you can search as follows:
If you go under the advanced find, then select accounts for example and then under the next search box option and go all the way down to the related area and select "notes" you can type in txt you want to search on, such as "broken arm". It will bring up the "Accounts" that have broken arm in the notes area and then you just click on the accounts>notes and read the information.
If you have questions that arise after our events, please e-mail mmevents@microsoft.com and our team will be happy to get an answer for you.

I believe your answer is incorrest. In the Account Advance Find, the "Notes" field is not available as a search option in the drop down list. Description is available if you are referring to that. As far as I know, there no way of searching the "Notes" under the Entities "Notes Tab". If I'm worry, please clarify. Thanks! Reply: CRM 3.0 is capable of searching the notes field. The answer provided is completely accurate. The key is to use the related notes under the account search to look at the notes description field. The “description” on the note is the note body.
